St.Johns College Cambridge, wedding photography
Cambridge photographer Richard, was proud to be a part of Murphy & Jacks wedding at St.Johns College Cambridge. It is one of the most stunning wedding venues of the Cambridge Colleges, and everyone enjoyed a fabulous sunny day. After the Ceremony in the main Chapel, there was a drinks reception on the lawns on the ‘backs’ of the colleges where guests could enjoy a drink and watch some punting on the Cam. After a formal Wedding breakfast, the party continued over in the Union buildings. See a few pictures here or click here to see more

Wedding Fair in Cambridge
Todays wedding fair is at Girton College Cambridge and is a stunning Cambridge venue. As we regularly attend this event, there was no way we could miss not meeting and talking to all of the lovely brides and families that usually attend.

Wedding Photography at Queens College, Cambridge
Congratulations to Kelly & Steve who were married today at Queens College Cambridge!
As usual it was another ‘summer’s day when although the temperature was fine the clouds seemed rather full and threatening for most of the day. However, this was their day to enjoy, and the rain held off all day so all of the family could enjoy the celebrations.
Kelly has grown up running through the wonderful surroundings of Queens College where has worked for many years, which enabled them to be one of the only couples in Cambridge to have their family throw confetti on the manicured lawns.
Steve’s family assembled at the Double Tree Hotel across from the University, so the Groom and ushers had to walk across the famous Mathematical bridge.
The bridge was built in 1749 by James Essex the Younger (1722-1784) to the design of William Etheridge (1709-1776). It has subsequently been rebuilt to the same design in 1866 and 1905. For those who have fallen prey to the baseless stories told by unscrupulous guides to gullible tourists, it is necessary to point out that Isaac Newton died in 1727, and therefore cannot possibly have had anything to do with this bridge. Anyone who believes that students or Fellows could have disassembled the bridge (and then failed to re-assemble it, as the myth runs) cannot have a serious grasp on reality, given the size and weight of the wooden members of the bridge. The joints of the present bridge are fastened by nuts and bolts. Earlier versions of the bridge used iron pins or screws at the joints, driven in from the outer elevation. Only a pedant could claim that the bridge was originally built without nails. Other baseless stories are that Etheridge had been a student, and/or had visited China.
